Immunization Provider Education Series
This webinar series brings subject matter experts to discuss timely topics during the lunch hour every other month. Each webinar will feature a different guest speaker and will focus on one topic area. These webinars are free and offer attendees the opportunity to hear best practices, up-to-date information, and more. At the conclusion of the presentation attendees also have the opportunity to ask the experts questions. Participation with this series is encouraged for all those involved in immunization services.

Presentation by Tara C. Jatlaoui, MD, MPH, Medical Officer, Adult Immunization Lead, Immunization Services Division (ISD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Dr. Jatlaoui will discuss vaccination guidance for adults during COVID-19, review the Standards for Adult Immunization Practice, review updates to the adult immunization schedule, and host a question and answer session.

Session #1 Meningococcal Disease: Vaccines and Epidemiology

Presentation by Lucy McNamara, PhD, MS, Epidemiologist, Division of Bacterial Diseases, National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); Leslie Maier, President, National Meningitis Association; and Patti Wukovits, RN, BSN, Director, Kimberly Coffey Foundation and Alicia Stillman, Emily Stillman Foundation, both with the Meningitis B Action Project.
Dr. McNamara will present on the clinical presentations of invasive infection with Neisseria meningitidis, the pathogen responsible for disease, transmission, and risk factors. She will also cover current meningococcal epidemiology in the United States, meningococcal vaccines licensed for use in the United States, and ACIP recommendations for vaccine use.
Leslie Maier will share her story and resources available from the National Meningitis Association, including a social media campaign for parents and teens, as well as health care providers, with the focus on getting the second dose of MenACWY.
Patti Wukovits and Alicia Stillman, who each lost their young daughters to Meningitis B, will share their stories and details on how their latest awareness initiative, the Meningitis B Action Project, can support your own patient education efforts.

Vaccine Hesitancy and Your Patients
Presentation by Jay Rosenbloom, MD, PhD, Boost Oregon
Jay Rosenbloom, MD, PhD, from Boost Oregon, a pediatrician for over 20 years, will share his approach with vaccine-hesitancy. He will discuss how his approach changed over time from ineffective to very effective; provide a summary of scientific literature as to where parents get their vaccination information and what changes their minds; provide context as to why parents are vaccine-hesitant; discuss parents’ perceptions of risk; and host a question and answer session.

2019 Childhood Catch-Up Immunization Schedule
Presentation by Tina S. Objio, BSN, MSN, RN, CDC/NCIRD, Nurse Educator
Ms. Objo from CDC will review the Childhood Catch-up schedule. She will provide an overview of how the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations are created; discuss background information on Childhood Immunizations Schedule; share tools and resources that providers may use to assist when evaluating children that are "behind" on immunizations; present case studies for discussion; and hold a question and answer session.
