Montana Maternal Health Alliance

Overview of the Montana Maternal Health Alliance (MMHA)

The MOMS Program convenes a statewide maternal health alliance, known as the MMHA, to increase communication and coordination across sectors and improve implementation and evaluation of programs. The MMHA applies the Collective Impact Model within the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of alliance initiatives. Collective Impact focuses on sustained, system-level change, moving beyond isolated interventions to create a unified and powerful force for good.

The MMHA consists of a collective group organizations and individuals across a variety of disciplines (i.e. public health, healthcare, behavioral health, Indigenous health, education, advocacy, research, and social services, etc.) that will opt-in to participate and collaborate on shared goals.

MMHA Vision: A Montana where every pregnant, birthing, and postpartum individual feels heard, supported, and empowered, experiencing universal, safe, high-quality, and timely care. Through high-functioning systems, data-driven strategies, and empowered families and providers, Montana will achieve the lowest maternal mortality and morbidity rates, fostering healthy families, communities, and lives—making us a national leader in maternal health.
