Data and Research

From 2019-2024, the University of Montana’s Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities supported MOMS with research and evaluation initiatives. Research and evaluation were conducted on a variety of factors impacting maternal health in Montana, including:
  • Social and behavioral determinants of maternal & child health
  • Rural healthcare delivery systems
  • Early childhood systems
  • Workforce development
  • Severe maternal morbidity
  • Substance use & mental health

In 2024, data analysis and evaluation projects were transitioned to the DPHHS Maternal Child Health (MCH) Epidemiology Section. Check-back on this webpage for more maternal health data reports!
