The Treatment Bureau sets standards of care for Substance Use Disorder and Behavioral Health treatment services. These guidelines are outlined in the BHDD Medicaid Services Provider Manual to ensure that federal standards are being met and are being held at a state level for all programs offering services to individuals who are insured by Medicaid. The following standards have been considered: the current edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and American Society of Addiction Medicine Criteria.
