DPHHS School Health Mini-Grants:
***The School Health Mini-Grants Program is indefinitely suspended. We will accept applications for the upcoming school year, but we are unable to guarantee funding at this time.  If funding becomes available, applications will be reviewed in the order they were received.

DPHHS provides grants to nurses, asthma and diabetes educators, school counselors and administrators working in K-12 schools throughout Montana. $1,000 grants support applicants in their efforts to create safe and healthy learning environments for students and school staff. Applicants may choose from pre-designed projects or create their own. Project focus must be related to asthma, diabetes, or cardiovascular health. Visit the grants page of this website for more details.

New Legislation Allows Montana K-12 Schools to Carry Stock Albuterol
On May 1, 2025, Governor Gianforte signed HB600, authorizing the emergency use of albuterol in response to respiratory distress in the school setting or at school sponsored events. The Asthma Control Program within the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services has compiled resources to assist schools and stakeholders interested in carrying stock albuterol. This law is effective July 1, 2025. Visit the asthma page of the school health website for more information.
