We Want to Hear from You!
Overview
Following Montana’s recent implementation of the community engagement requirement for Medicaid Expansion, the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) wants to hear from community members and stakeholders about questions, concerns, and challenges they are facing to gather feedback on the implementation of the implementation of the community engagement requirement.
Who do we want to hear from?
Medicaid members, providers, advocates, Tribal representatives, community organizations, and other interested parties are encouraged to submit responses to the feedback form.
What kind of feedback are we looking for?
The Department is looking for feedback on things like:
- How information on the community engagement requirement can be improved
- If the application process and forms are easy to understand
- If it is clear what individuals need to do to maintain coverage
- If answers to questions can be easily found in our resources and materials
Please note that this is not a forum for case specific questions, policy debates, or those looking for general updates. Please address case specific questions to the Offices of Public Assistance and continue to check medicaidchanges.mt.gov for general updates.
Where can I submit feedback?
Individuals interested in sharing feedback should do so by completing the Community Engagement Feedback Form.
The feedback form asks stakeholders to provide:
- Their contact information
- The organization or group they represent (if applicable)
- A brief description of the feedback they would like to provide
- Topic(s) they would like to discuss
Select respondents will be invited to deep dive into specific topics during our listening sessions.
Listening Session Participation
A listening session is a group discussion hosted by DPHHS to:- Convene stakeholder feedback around specific topics
- Better understand implementation experiences
- Identify operational questions and concerns
- Help inform future community engagement implementation activities
Listening sessions are intended to dive into specific program areas and are not designed to address individual eligibility determinations or case-specific issues.
How are participants selected?
DPHHS will review submitted forms to help organize listening sessions and identify discussion topics. Participants may be invited based on schedule availability and discussion topics.
Will everyone who submits a feedback form be invited?
No. Since available time is limited, submitting a feedback form does not guarantee an invitation to a Listening Session.
Scheduling:
Listening sessions will be held regularly as part of DPHHS’s ongoing efforts to stay connected with the communities it serves. Individuals who are invited to participate will receive an invitation from DPHHS with additional information and meeting details.

- Listening session #4: Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026
Additional listening sessions may be scheduled in the future.
