SUN Bucks
The deadline to apply for 2026 SUN Bucks was 8/31/2026.
To apply for 2027 SUN Bucks using the online application, follow the link above, “Apply for SUN Bucks”. If you need a paper application, please request one at SUNBucks@mt.gov. All applications received since July 1, 2026 and later approved will be eligible for summer 2027 SUN Bucks benefits.
How do I activate my card?
- Call 1-833-433-8263. You will need the SUN Bucks card number on the back of the card.
- You will then need to follow the instructions on the insert included with your card.
When to call Customer Service for your SUN Bucks EBT Card
1-833-433-8263 (Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
- To activate your card and select a PIN
- To check your balance and transactions
- To report your card lost, stolen or damaged
- To request a replacement card
- To change your PIN
- To ask questions or report problems with your card
Schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP): Montana’s SUN Bucks agency is required to establish and maintain a State-wide database of all children enrolled in NSLP- or SBP-participating schools within the State for the purposes of enrolling children for Summer EBT benefits and detecting and preventing duplicate benefit issuance (7 CFR 292.12(c)). Please contact SUNBucks@mt.gov if you have questions regarding data collection.
Retailers: If you do not currently accept EBT (which will also allow you to accept Summer EBT/ SUN Bucks), you may apply for FNS Retailer Certification to process EBT Transactions at the following link:
