Nutrition & Breastfeeding Education Plans are Due!

Attention WIC Directors and Coordinators, the Nutrition Education Plan and Breastfeeding Education Plan are due to the state office by August 15, 2014. The plans and guidance to complete them have been updated and are available through the links above in a fillable PDF form. You can submit your plan via email to Kate or by mail. Call or email Kate with any questions or concerns.

Milk & Cheese REMINDER

As of today, When your substituting cheese for milk, the milk increment amount will show in 1 quart increments rather than 4. Please remember that ALL women and children with 2 and 3 year food packages will need a NEW food package entered for October 1st (and future packages also updated). See this guidance document for more detail on making those updates and how to substitute cheese for milk with the changed rates (4 quarts per pound of cheese currently and 3 quarts for 1 pound of cheese as of October 1st). In addition, as we do not authorize regular soy milk in quarts (i.e. 8th Continent, Lucerne, and Silk) you will need to add a quart of Pacific Ultra to provide the full nutrition benefit for participants receiving soy AND cheese as of October 1st. If the participant does not want the Pacific Ultra quart, you MUST document tailoring down the package. Remember, quarts of Pacific Ultra Soy can ONLY be purchased when specified on the participant's benefit. A list of all participants by state ID who need an updated prescription may be obtained on the Reports/Utilities site and is called "Food Prescription Changes- October 2014". Please call Kate, Chris or the help desk with any questions.
