Important! SIS and SNAP Verification Issues

There are reports of SIS not being able to verify SNAP eligibility only; Medicaid and TANF appear unaffected. When trying to verify SNAP, there is a “Server 500 Error” screen. If you experience this error:
• Document in all appropriate household members’ charts you were unable to verify because of a SIS issue.
• Issue one month of benefits.
• Keep a list of all the affected participants in order to look them up when SIS works again.

If you find a household you certified does not have SNAP, get different income information as soon as possible. If they are ineligible, issue a Notice of Ineligibility. We will let you know when the issue is fixed through email. We expect this issue to be fixed shortly. Again, this only affects SNAP verification; follow normal SIS procedures for Medicaid and TANF.

Lincoln County WIC Moving

We want to thank Linda Wagner and Peggy Smith for their many years with the WIC Program in Lincoln County.  We will miss your presence and questions at trainings.  You were always the first to reach out to new staff and make them feel welcome.  You will truly be missed.  Good luck with whatever the future may bring your way.

WIC services are now provided by the Northwest Community Health Center in Lincoln County.

Exciting New Research

Check out this article about the impact of improved nutrition and physical activity on overweight pregnant women and the birth weights of their infants.
