Montana WIC Directors:

SIS is now working correctly and you may use it to verify adjunctive eligibility. If you were unable to verify adjunctive eligibility of participants, please do so now. Participants that are eligible may be mailed more benefits if appropriate. If a participant is found to be ineligible, please mail them a letter of ineligibility. You may want to mention their eligibility will be restored if they bring in other proof like paystubs.

Please share this message with all local WIC staff. If you have questions please contact the State WIC Office.

Change to Benefits

Starting today, benefits will print with slightly different language. Instead of printing “XXX END OF ORDER XXX” after the foods, it will now print “BUYING, SELLING OR OTHERWISE MISUSING WIC BENEFITS IS A CRIME. TO REPORT SUSPECTED ABUSE, CALL 800-424-9121 OR VISIT WWW.USDA.GOV/OIG/HOTLINE.HTM.” This change is required by the USDA. If you have any questions, please call Leah at (406) 444-5530.

Standardizing Abbreviations

We have worked with the Flathead team to come up with a list of common abbreviations used in WIC charting. We are asking that you review this list and let Kate know if you would like any clinic-specific abbreviations added, or if you have any other feedback.
