- Imported Case - On 9-6-2002 a human case was confirmed in a resident of Sweet Grass County, but the resident acquired the virus while visiting Ohio.
- Imported Case - On 9-13-02 a human case was confirmed in a resident of Nebraska while traveling in Montana."
- A Rosebud County resident who became ill in the
fall of 2002 wasn't diagnosed by laboratory tests until early 2003.
