Silver Haired Legislators
Montana's Silver Haired Legislature is the senior's voice of our state, we draft bills and resolutions and then present them to our elected state lawmakers. To date, the Silver Haired Legislature has enjoyed over an 80% passage rate of their legislation by Montana's Legislature.
We need to keep this up by letting the Legislature know our concerns, and that means we need local, county Legacy Legislators. In January all our counties will have elections to pick their representatives to the Silver Haired Legislature. With the help of all the Area Agency on Aging and the county coordinators, we can have, and need, all of Montana's counties represented at the Silver Haired Legislature. Our agenda is very simple: a training session is held; the bills and resolutions are written and then a 1 day legislative session is held to pass and prioritize our bills and concerns.
