The Program Integrity Section is made up of three units:
This unit is responsible for investigating potential fraud of recipient eligibility in the Food Stamp, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medicaid programs. The unit consists of four program investigators who are located in Billings , Missoula , and Helena . Anyone who suspects that a Montanan has fraudulently applied for Medicaid may call toll-free 1-800-201-6308.
This unit is responsible for helping to establish, monitor, reconcile, and negotiate repayments of recipient Food Stamp, TANF, and Medicaid claims. The unit is also responsible for submitting claims to the Treasury Offset Program (TOP) and to the State Tax Offset program for collections on delinquent claims. The unit consists of one financial investigator and one administrative specialist, both located in Helena .
This unit is responsible for performing federally mandated quality-control reviews for the Food Stamp and Medicaid programs. The random reviews are conducted monthly to determine whether the programs are being administered in keeping with state and federal requirements. The unit consists of six program compliance auditors located in Great Falls , Hinsdale, Kalispell, Livingston, Missoula , and Helena . Also located in Helena are one quality control lead worker and one statistician.
