Water Laboratory Certification Program
Montana has been granted primacy by the US Environmental Protection Agency to administer the provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act within the state, ensuring that laboratories that analyze Montana’s public drinking water supplies for chemical and microbiological contaminants meet strict quality requirements. Certification by the DPHHS Laboratory Certification Program authorizes laboratories to analyze public water supplies in Montana and to submit, to regulatory authorities, data that can be used to determine compliance with state and federal regulations.
