Public Meeting to Focus

on Needs of People with Disabilities

A public hearing focusing on the needs of people with disabilities will be held Wednesday, March 28, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. via videoconference in eight Montana cities.

The meeting is sponsored by the Montana Vocational Rehabilitation Program and the Statewide Independent Living Council.

The purpose of the forum is to allow people with disabilities to share their comments and suggestions regarding vocational rehabilitation and independent living services provided by the state.  The comments will help both programs evaluate their services in an effort to best meet the needs of their consumers.

The hearing will be held simultaneously at the following eight videoconference sites around the state. 

  • Billings: MSU-Billings, 214 North Broadway, First Floor Conference Center
  • Bozeman: MSU, Engineering & Physical Sciences Building, corner of South Seventh and Grant, Burns Center, Room 127
  • ButteMontana Tech, 1300 West Park Street, ELC Building, Room 225
  • Great Falls: Great Falls College of Technology, 2100 16th Avenue South, Room B-133
  • Helena: DPHHS, 111 Sanders Street, Auditorium
  • Kalispell: Flathead Valley Community College, 777 Grandview Drive, Learning Resource Center, Room 120
  • Miles City: Miles Community College, 2715 Dickenson Street, Room 106
  • Missoula: UM, Gallagher Building, corner of Arthur and Eddy, Room 104

Anyone unable to attend the hearing may send written comments to Barbara Varnum, Program Manager, Montana Vocational Rehabilitation Program, P.O. Box 4210, Helena, MT  59604, or to bvarnum@mt.gov.  The deadline for written comments is April 10, and they will be given the same consideration as comments made in person.
