Diabetes to Be Topic of Conference for Health Professionals
A conference for Montana health professionals on the treatment and management of diabetes will be held Oct. 19-20 at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish.
The continuing education course is sponsored by the Montana Diabetes Project of the state Department of Public Health and Human Services, the University of Washington School of Medicine, and the University of Montana School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences.
The cost to attend is $95 for those who register on or before Oct. 13 and $115 thereafter.
Highlights will include an update on the latest diabetes research; a dinner featuring patient advocate Dawn Dungan, of Billings; and sessions on diabetes nutrition, new technologies and medications, and disease monitoring.
The nationally recognized faculty includes Dr. Christopher Sorli, a Billings endocrinologist; James Bennett, a pharmacist from Corinth, Miss.; Marion Franz, a dietitian from Minneapolis; and Dr. William H. Herman, University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor.
Continuing education credits will be available.
