Conference to Help Businesses Promote Healthier Workforce

The Montana Council on Worklife Wellness will hold a conference in May aimed at helping business professionals design effective employee-wellness programs. The cost is $100 for those who register before April 14 and $120 thereafter.

The conference will be May 17-18 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bozeman. It is aimed at business owners, chief executive officers, human resource directors, benefits managers, health/safety and wellness professionals, and public school administrators across the state.

The event is designed to give business professionals the tools to initiate or expand wellness strategies for their employees. The featured speaker will be Larry Chapman, chairman and senior consultant for the Summex Corporation, a firm that provides health cost-management services to employers, hospital systems, and managed care organizations. Chapman has developed more than 500 employee health cost-management programs across the country.

A panel discussion will highlight successful worksite wellness initiatives in Montana.

The conference is sponsored by the Cardiovascular Health (CVH) Program of the state Department of Public Health and Human Services, the American Heart Association, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, Home Health of Montana, Lee Newspapers, and Two Medicine Health and Financial Fitness.
