What is DPHHS doing to help clients, employees?

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the information entrusted to us at all times. 

For those people who had information on the server, we are mailing letters letting you know what happened and what services have been made available. For more information.

What services are being offered?

Free Credit Monitoring for a Year
The State is offering free credit monitoring services through Experian for a year to those individuals that have information on the affected server. Enrollment information will be provided in the letter that is being mailed.

Notification Letters

(Please note: DPHHS has received calls asking why the letters are being sent from an Oregon address. In order to notify people regarding this incident as quickly as possible, DPHHS is working with a mail processing vendor based in Oregon to mail the letters.)

We are in the process of mailing letters to those people who had information on the affected server. The letter will include instructions about how to sign up for free credit monitoring, identity theft resolution services and identity theft insurance offered by the State. A toll free help line has been set up to help answer questions. Please call DPHHS Help Line at (800) 809-2956 between 7 am and 7 pm MST.
