Safe Sleep Training

As of July 2012, child care regulations (ARM 37.95.1005 (10)) require the provider and all staff providing care to children under age 2 to receive training in an approved safe sleep curriculum. The safe sleep curriculum accepted by the department is approved for two hours and is available through www.childcaretraining.org.

Once the certificate has been received, it should be sent to the licensor.  Individuals submitting new provider applications must complete the training before being approved for children under age 2. As a reminder, the safe sleep training must be completed prior to July 31, 2013 for providers licensed or registered prior to October 2012.
