Supported Employment Services
Who?
Supported employment services to 217 Montanans provide job placement and ongoing support for individuals with disabilities who are employed in jobs in the general work force. Training in getting a job, how to do the job and follow-along services are provided as primary components of this service.
What?
Supported employment programs provide job placement for individuals outside of the service contractor’s work facility. This service may include job development and placement with ongoing support and follow-along to maintain an individual’s employment in the general work force. Work crews are another form of supported employment offering individuals a chance for paid work as part of a group of individuals providing a service outside of the contractor’s facility. Some individuals are part of a small group or enclave working in a business alongside non-disabled employees.

You may also obtain additional information about the location of these services by contacting the service provider agencies listed below. Once eligibility for services has been established and a service opportunity becomes available, a developmental disabilities case manager will assist you in the process of entering services.
