In addition, the respite provider is subject to approval by the family, and must possess any competencies outlined by the family in the plan of care, which are related to the specific needs of the individual. Person providing the service must be 16 or older.Respite workers serving as employees of persons self-directing respite with employer authority must complete the requirements of a first aid course, and pass a background check, if one is requested by their employer.
Licensed adult day center settings with a DDP contract may be reimbursed directly by the DDP, or may be reimbursed via another agency with a DDP contract under the OHCDS provision. In this event, the respite reimbursement paid by the Department will not exceed the currently approved rate for the service. Administrative Rules of Montana governing the licensure of adult day care centers are found at ARM 37.106.2601 through ARM 37.106.2621. Licensure of these setting is the responsibility of the DPHHS Quality Assurance Division.
