The Montana Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) formally announces a Request for Proposals for three types of child maltreatment prevention activities. Funding for the projects will begin July 1, 2008.
As the leading agency committed to reducing child abuse and neglect in Montana, the CTF invites relevant groups, agencies, and organizations to submit Proposals for potential funding to be awarded by July 1, 2008. The projects should focus on primary or secondary child abuse and neglect prevention and not treatment.
Primary prevention is defined as services available to the community at-large or to families to foster positive family relationships.
Secondary prevention is defined as services to keep child abuse and neglect from occurring after certain warning signs have appeared.
This year the CTF is soliciting three types of proposals: (1) Local, community-based innovative projects with a specific focus such as parent education, parent support groups, parenting skills for young parents, etc, (2) Family Resource Centers; (3) Early Childhood Comprehensive Development/Home Visiting (pilot program).
The CTF offers to continue funding for community-based programs and services that are designed to develop and demonstrate evidence-based or evidence-informed strategies for the early identification of and assistance to at-risk families in order to prevent child maltreatment.
Grantees must be non-profit private or public, community-based or statewide, educational, and service organizations, groups or agencies. Eligible organizations must have an Employer Identification Number.
Please see the “Guidelines and Application” section for a more complete description of the RFP.
