Belgrade

THRIVEestablished the Belgrade Parent Place as a place for parents to receive parenting classes, support groups, resource library materials, home visiting, and community resource referrals. Parent Place offers Love and Logic and Parents as Teachers classes, family activities, and the “Dynamite Dads” support group.  THRIVE will expand services to the Belgrade Schools including parent education and teacher training in 2010-2011.

Billings

The Family Tree Center offers services to Yellowstone, Musselshell, and Fergus Counties. The Center offers Nurturing Parents programs; child development classes; affective discipline and guidance classes; free respite day care; support groups; supplementary services classes; a lending library; resource and referral services; the Second Step Violence Program, Family Support Programming and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Training. A new respite program also offered.

The Center for Children and Families will offer, through their Forever Families program, support and parenting education to engage adoptive families with high-risk children. The Center will utilize evidence-based curriculum and programming from the Child Trauma Academy, Beyond Consequences, and the Model Approach to Partnerships and Parenting and Triple P Parenting Models to assist adoptive parents in ongoing parent skill building. The program utilizes peer-support and respite care services as parent of this project.

Crow Agency/Hardin

The FAMILY SUPPORT ENTWORK will be expanding the services to provide parenting classes combining an evidenced-based program, Nurturing Parenting Program, and Native American culture and traditions for families in the Hardin and Crow Agency area.

The WOMEN’S RESOURCE CENTER/COMMUNITY SUPPORT CENTER will be expanding the services to provide strengthening rural families program including parenting classes and outreach.

Florence

The WORD Inc. will be establishing the Local Living Family Resource Center in Florence. The Family Resource Center will promote the strengthening of networks of support for families; strengthen family and community knowledge of child abuse prevention; and strengthen leadership abilities in parents and community leaders.

Glendive

Dawson County Healthy Communities Family Resource Center offers a wide-variety of community-based and prevention-focused programs and activities to strengthen and support families. The Center offers Love and Logic parenting classes; support groups for young parents; self-help parent support groups; Nurturing Fathers programs; Grandparents raising Grandchildren support groups; youth development; social connections; resource and referrals; partnered respite care; and home visits.

Havre

The District IV Human Resources Development Council (HRDC) will be establishing the Family Resource Center in Havre. The Family Resource Center’s goal is to provide resources that will strengthen and support families and community professionals. Parents’ Anonymous meetings, a resource library, parenting classes using the evidenced-based Active Parenting curriculum, and parent child activities offered.  HRDC will also collaborative with the local hospital and distribute “Your Baby’s Instruction Manual” as a resource.

Helena

The Lewis and Clark City-County Health Department will utilize Year Round Parenting from the Heart parent education and support program.  Other programs include Circle of Security parent education, Parents Anonymous parent support, and Parents As Teachers Home Visitation model. Member of the Early Childhood Coalition of the Greater Helena Area (ECC).

St. Peter’s Hospital will offer Baby and Me support group for parents with newborns up to 12 months of age will use evidence-based programs such as the Period of Purple Crying, parenting education and support, expert presentations and resource referral services. Member of the Early Childhood Coalition of the Greater Helena Area (ECC).

Kalispell

The Nurturing Center provides family and community based programs to children and their families. Services include evidenced-based programs such as Active Parenting, The Nurturing Program and Parenting the Second Time Around. A Resource Library and caregiver support programs combined with a commitment to Early Childhood Education in the community.

Lame Deer

The Boys and Girls Club of the Northern Cheyenne Nation in collaboration with the Family Support Network will provide parenting classes that combine the Nurturing Parenting Program (evidence-based) and the Northern Cheyenne culture and parenting practices for families of the Northern Cheyenne Reservation.

Livingston

Community Health Partners Learning Partners Family Center’s mission is to strengthen and support families in south central Montana. The program offers home visitation services; parent education; social support of families; early childhood education; primary health care access, and a family resource center. The services aimed at enhancing and expanding services to meet the unique needs of families who began parenting as teenagers.

Plentywood

Community Incentive Program will begin to offer community-wide parenting classes using the “Nurturing Program.”  The program will be a continuation and expansion of mentoring programs; public information activities that focus on the healthy, positive development of parents and children as well as promotion of child abuse and neglect prevention activities.

Sidney

District II Alcohol and Drug Program offers community-wide parenting classes using the “Nurturing Program.”  A computer-based program “Parenting Wisely” offered and located at the Family Resource Center located in the Richland County Library. The Center also offers a resource and referral service, and a lending library. The ultimate goal is to foster positive family relationship by continuing to strengthen families in Richland County.
