Vocational Rehabilitation Council

The council advises the staff of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program of the Department of Public Health and Human Services on policy and program issues, delivery of services to consumers, and methods for reaching potential consumers. The council is made up of 21 members representing different disabilities, as well as business, education, and advocacy groups. More than half of the members must themselves have disabilities.

The council meets four times a year and submits an annual report to the governor describing the status and effectiveness of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. It also reviews and analyzes consumer satisfaction with the agency and helps to develop strategic operational plans.
