Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver

Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, Addictive and Mental Disorders Division, is pleased to announce the approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of the home and community based services waiver for adults age 18 and over with severe disabling mental illness (SDMI) who, without the waiver services, would be in nursing homes.  The SDMI waiver is not available statewide and there is capacity for 105 slots per year.  The SDMI waiver will be operational January 1, 2007 in Yellowstone, Big Horn, Carbon, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Silver Bow, Powell, Beaverhead, Deer Lodge and Granite Counties.  The SDMI Waiver will be operational April 1, 2007 in Cascade, Blaine, Chouteau, Glacier, Hill, Liberty, Pondera, Teton, and Toole Counties.
