RE:                WIC Futures Study Group Request

1.  5 biggest timetakers

      1.  Number of signatures for both the participant and certifier during Cert/Subcert appointments. Including End of Certification forms and Cert appointment forms when scheduling for the appointment.

      2.  All the paper charting in addition to inputing information into the computer, including plotting graphs, and nutrition notes to prove quality services to State on review.

      3.  Doing our own anthropomentrics and hemoglobins.

      4.  Allthe additional documentation such as breastpump logs, computer logs, initialing BOD’s EOD’s etc.

      5.  The certification process is very time consuming and distracts from nutrition education.  The frequency of certification required (by Feds) for stable children seems excessive.  Could we work with the Feds to allow children to be certified for one full year like  infants?

2.  Fed vs State  requirements:  I would need the State to review their policies against the Federal ones as I have not had the time .  I think the State WIC office should be aware of the differences and be able to answer this question.  I know we do things differently than other States due to comments from transfers.
