Shriners Hospital for Children
Shriners Hospitals for Children admits any child age birth to 18 years old and treats to the age of 21 at no cost to the family, insurance or government agency. Limited transportation assistance is provided by the local Shrine Centers. There are 19 North American Hospitals that provide pediatric orthopedic services. Shriners also offer acute burn care and spinal cord injury rehabilitation at selected sites. Montana children are treated at the Spokane, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Chicago, Illinois; Salt Lake City, Utah and St. Louis, Missouri. Shriners Hospitals for pediatric orthopedic conditions and at the Cincinnati, Ohio and Sacramento, California Shriners Hospital for burns.
Outreach and Screening Clinics involve physicians and staff from Shriners providing follow-up visits in the community. When children meet qualifications for orthopedic treatment, they are referred on to the appropriate hospital.
