Comprehensive Cancer Control is broadly defined as "a coordinated approach to reduce the incidence, morbidity and mortality of cancer through prevention, early detection, treatment, rehabilitation and palliation." The Montana Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (MCCCP) is a supporting partner to the Montana Cancer Control Coalition (MTCCC). The MTCCC is a statewide coalition of health advocates with the common mission to reduce the overall burden of cancer for Montanans. Working together, the MTCCC developed Montana's Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan.
The MTCCC Mission
• To reduce cancer incidence, morbidity and mortality in Montana through a collaborative partnership of private and public individuals and organizations.
• To develop, implement, promote and advocate for a statewide, coordinated, integrated approach to control cancer for all Montanans.
• To ensure quality of life through prevention, early detection, treatment, research, rehabilitation and palliation.
The MTCCC conducts bi-annual statewide meetings.

It offers a framework for statewide cancer prevention and control, utilizes evidence based strategies and sets priorities for public and private cancer-control activities. The MTCCC is implementing the plan by engaging individuals and organizations to work together to control cancer.
