About Us

The Women's and Men's Health Section is located within the Family and Community Health Bureau in the Department of Public Health and Human Services.  Family Planning services are provided through a combination of Federal Title X (ten) funding, and State funding including the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant and the Preventive Services Block Grant. Over the past 36 years, the Women's and Men's Health Section has been dedicated to helping Montanans plan healthy families and avoid unintended pregnancies.

What does Title X provide?

The State of Montana began receiving Title X funding from the Office of Population Affairs in 1970.  Title X provides family planning services to low-income and uninsured individuals.  Montana ensures access to high-quality health care services including:

 - Physical Exams

 - Birth Control Options and Sterilization

 - Breast, Cervical, and Testicular Cancer Screenings

 - Diagnosis and Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

 - Pregnancy Testing and Counseling

 - Health Education

 - Community Outreach

- Fertility Treatment

- Referrals to Preventive Health and Social Services, Nutrition Services,

  Immunizations, and Others

Title X funds are dispersed across 14 delegate agencies and 13 satellite sites, which provide family planning services in 27 locations and serve all 56 counties in Montana.
