Family Planning Program Administration

How Services Are Provided

WMHS administers the Montana Family Planning Program, monitors compliance with state and federal regulations, works with related programs and acts as a clearinghouse for family planning information, teen pregnancy prevention efforts, public health training, consultation and technical assistance.

  

Vision

 WMHS's shared vision for the Montana Family Planning Program is:

 • To be recognized as leaders in reproductive health care;

 • To be known for reducing unintended pregnancies, subsequent abortions,     

    and welfare dependence;

 • To promote health relationships through factual and current health education,

    positive lifestyle modification, respecting personal choice, and client-

    centered care with a focus on prevention;

 • To be known for honest, friendly, and non-judgmental staff who are

    advocates for their clients;

 • To prevent and treat sexually transmitted infections with a focus on

    scientific-based information and comprehensive reproductive health 

    education;

 • To provide accessible services through direct care, creative partnerships, and

    referral;

 • To value excellence, support diversity, and are an integral part of public

    health.

Funding

The Montana Family Planning Program administered by the Women's and Men's Health Section is a preventive health education and clinical service program serving the reproductive health needs of Montana residents. Funding for the Family Planning clinics is provided through the Federal Title X Program, Preventive Health Block Grant, Maternal and Child Health Block Grant, third party reimbursement, local funds, and patient fees base.
