Environmental Laboratory

INTRODUCTION
The Environmental Laboratory of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is located in Helena, Montana, in the Capitol Complex at 1400 Broadway. The Laboratory is a full-service environmental laboratory providing analytical, consulting and training services to programs of the State of Montana, local and federal agencies, and to the general public. The Environmental Laboratory is certified by Region 8 Environmental Protection Agency to provide analyses for the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and also provides testing for the Clean Water Act (CWA), the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) and the Clean Air Act, as well as for non-regulated monitoring.

The Environmental Laboratory manages the laboratory certification/licensure program for local, state and commercial laboratories that analyze Montana’s public water supplies.
