All Montana health care providers are required to report patients diagnosed with the conditions listed below to their county health department. Reporting enables public health officials to conduct follow-up on cases of significance and identify outbreaks or emerging health concerns. In addition, the information collected allows public and private health professionals to assess long-term trends and patterns in disease prevalence.
